It’s pretty comfortable around here. Why should I try to make things even better?
In today’s issue…
Why good enough, often isn’t
425 words, total reading time about 2 minutes
No one wants his or her business to go backwards. No one wants to purposefully fail. But by settling for “good enough” – by staying comfortable – we may be exposing our business to risks that aren’t necessary.
Accepting your current success as “good enough” fails to recognize two realities:
1. If you are going to keep doing what you are doing, you have to innovate to be able to do it better.
2. Whether you are making changes to your business or not, the market is always changing, It is only by managing change can you stay even, or advance in the market. There is no such thing as doing nothing and maintaining position.
You can almost guarantee your top competitors are looking at ways to get better in 2018. We encourage you to do the same. And when you drive the business to greatness – beyond “good enough” – you are creating an organizational personality to overcome and conquer; to WIN more consistently. Why in major sports do we see teams that consistently win? They develop a habit of winning. Sure, crazy payrolls can help but high payrolls don’t guarantee success.
We invite you to explore how VITAL might help.
Job 1 at VITAL is helping companies reach for better performance and start down the path to success. The majority of our clients were already doing well when they came to us. But they knew that, to really effect strategic change, some outside advice and counsel would be a helpful catalyst. And here is what we’ve found, even with companies who were doing great on their own…
Every company can improve. We can’t think of a single CI company that cannot benefit from adopting the VITAL system. Validating your performance against others is one of the big take-aways.
In the coming weeks, we want to share the path of what it takes to get to the next level of performance and sustain it. Our sharing of the VITAL system and its basic tenets is free, of course; you can choose to invest in implementing it or not.
We have help plans starting at only $300/month. Whichever you might consider, know this…
You make business investment decisions every day. Some decisions are to do nothing, which has its own set of potential costs. But what if you invest in help making decisions that move you closer and closer to optimal performance? No business steroids, just purposeful discipline and better decision-making. That’s the VITAL way.
We’d love to have you join us on the path. Stay tuned!
